Advocacy - Tweed Shire Women's Service runs various supports designed to strengthen and empower women by developing skills and providing information. Our work reflects the belief that advocacy by women within a feminist framework is an important method of promoting rights, interests and protection from potential abuse. We facilitate workshops or meetings which bring women together. We endeavour for women to develop skills and strategies around different issues such as accommodation support, education, work, health, lobbying and other practical areas of life.
FREE Condoms - Come in and help yourself to our condoms. Or ask staff for free dental dams.
The primary objective of the service is to empower women to make their own life choices through support and referral, crisis accommodation, advocacy and education and information within a non-judgemental, safe and nurturing environment.
We provide a safe women’s space in which women can come in and relax, have a cuppa, breastfeed babies or browse our other services.
All women are welcome.
