
- To provide crisis accommodation to women and women with their dependant children who are victims of domestic abuse and / or violence.
- To provide support to women and children, including counselling, personal emotional support, advocacy, referral and empowerment.
- To have a feminist philosophical base which recognises the oppression and lack of status of women and children in our society.
- To be operated by women for women and children regardless of their marital status, religion, race, culture, socio-economic background or sexual orientation.
- To provide liaison and advocacy with Refuge ex-residents by offering follow-up support.
- To assist women in finding satisfactory, affordable and safe housing at the end of their stay at the Refuge, and to liaise and lobby the Department of Housing to achieve this end.
- To provide to resident women and children a safe, non-judgemental and supportive atmosphere and meet their needs for information and understanding.
- To employ children's support workers who support the rights of children and women, and are capable of meeting the special needs of children in crisis.
- To employ women's general support workers who support the rights of women in crisis.
- To employ resource workers that will raise public awareness of women's and children's issues.
- To do all such other responsibilities as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the objects and the exercise of powers of the oganisation.
