Make a commitment to the safety of women and children in our community
Tweed Shire Women's Service is currently seeking vibrant, passionate members to join their Management Committee. The service is based in Murwillumbah and provides a range of services to the Tweed Shire community. Our services include:
- Crisis Accommodation for women and children fleeing domestic and family violence
- Supported transitional housing for women post-refuge care
- Parenting Education Programs
- Family Support Services
- Domestic Violence Counselling
- Indigenous support
- Parenting courses, skill development and access to practical support through the Resource Centre
The Tweed Shire Women's Service is committed to providing quality services which are responsive to community needs. To do this we depend on the skills, knowledge and support of our Management Committee.
The service will shortly be commencing its 3-year Strategic plan, which will guide the organisation through the next three years. The service identified a broad range of systems, planning, professional development and service enhancement strategies in 2008 and is in the final stages of completing the last two strategies under the 2008-2011 strategic planning.
To be an effective management committee member you would require:
- A commitment to the safety of women and children
- Sense of social justice and equity for all
- Be prepared to commit to this voluntary role
- Be committed to the operation and growth of the vital services Tweed Shire WomenÕs Service provides
